Diabetes lol
So I was diagnosed 2 days ago with type 2. Hba1c was 99. Put on slow release metformin 500mg and a follow up on the 22nd with my GP.

I'm confused why I haven't been told to get or get given a monitor to test my bloods? I thought that would be vital to see anything that's causing spikes/drops.

I'm on a low carb diet and doing daily squats/planking and dumbells now.

Unfortunately most of us have to self-fund. I suggest if feasible you buy one and some strips yourself as well as raising the point with your GP on 22nd. Well done on LC and exercise.

Because it's NHS guidance
Whether it's right or wrong is a different question, certain drugs that can cause hypos in theory should offer monitors, outside of insulin it's not always guaranteed either

So we self fund
