Once you can lower your blood glucose you might feel a lot better - I know that I feel a lot better now I am no longer being instructed to eat 'healthy' carbs to lower cholesterol.
The way that carbs make blood glucose rise and drop is really hard to cope with when it happens over and over again.
Hi and welcome
Yes we have all been there and it is early days and you are still coming to terms with it so take it one day at a time and you will begin to accept it and feel better about it then you can take it by the horns and say I am going to control this. You can read on here how many are controlling theirs with a low carb diet which may suit you
I would ditto that. I am 8 months since diagnosis and low carbing has improved not only my Diabetes but my mood, my weight, my energy levels. I think it has also improved my osteoarthritis in my ankles. You have nothing to lose giving it a fair chance over a few months and everything to gain. All the best.I can honestly say that my moods have been much more positive since I cut the carbs! Much happier, clear mind and more energy. Good luck x
Check out www.dietdoctor.com for some great meal ideas and recipes without having to buy any books.Thank you.
I’m looking at different recipe books on Amazon to see if I can find some meals that I can put together which will give me some sort of consistency with my blood glucose levels.
Go easy on the recipe books. Many of them have a whole different idea on low carb than us. Also, some of the nutritional information the give is inadequate.Thank you.

Hi are you metforminHello
I’ve recently being diagnosed with Type 2. For quite sometime now, pre diagnosis I’ve felt quite tearful and emotional on a number of occasions and sometimes just don’t like being around people or just don’t feel like I’m in the mood for anything. I’m trying to work out my eating plan and going to opt for the low carb plan, although, I’m slightly worried that cutting the carbs out will exacerbate my mood and tearfulness.
I would welcome any thoughts and views and if any members have had similar issues and feelings like I have been going through.
Thank you.
