the author states that eating fat doesn't make you fat. The Inuit people are the biggest fat eaters in the world with low rates of heart disease, obesity and diabetes. The STV program gave the impression that fat people got diabetes because they were fat. How then does thin people get it? The followers of the Atkins diet ate high amounts of fat and lost weight which meant they didn't put it on. Critics will probably point out it was because of a low carb intake?
Try 'Fat Chance' by Dr Robert Lusting. He is of the same opinion and using years of research he has put together how we have been led up the garden path and how thousands of people have lived with self loathing, failure and yet more thousands have died due to misinformation over the last 40-50 years and all so that the food and pharmaceutical industries can make a profit. In one chapter he takes apart all of the popular modern diet plans and explains how and why they work. He also includes case studies from his clinic in the US which just blow away the low fat mindset.
We should know by now that no government will try to stop these industries as Mr Cameron has recently proved so it is up to us to make a stand, try to change our lives and help as many fellow sufferers as we can on the way.
When the revolution comes guess who I nominate to be the first against the wall!
Just bought the big fat surprise book, but not in stock at Amazon.. Looks like everybody else beat me to it!!
Will see if I can get "fat chance" as well.
I now have my neighbour come round pre every meal to sample mine.. So he can buy the same ingredients next week if he likes the food and he thinks his kids will eat it... Lower carbs, high fat.. His 2 kids were overweight but when you see the wife going off to bed with her dressing gown pockets stuffed full of 2 family size bars of chocolate for herself... I think he's on a no win battle...his wife and kids will always be morbidly obese.
