Dr Rosedale blog, there is an interview saying why statins or cholesterol drugs are not needed and that they are contributing 200 billion dollars to the pharma industry, again I'm not good at links. drrosedale.com/blog. Quite a long way down the page.

A Dr with a blog.......whatever next

Hello again dawnmc, just noticed your post, I listened to the Dr Rosedale audio link. Well done for that reference, it makes so much sense,I think that all HCP's and doctors should be made to listen to it.The most salient point is that when on the dreaded statins we all seem to suffer from muscle weakness caused by this satanic drug. The heart is a blooming great muscle so why damage it with this stupid drug ?

Superchip.

Hi all
My Partner is a type 1 (for over 22 years) and has been on statins for cholesterol for 5 years due to 5.5+ readings. A year ago the aches and pains were so severe that he struggled to even get out of bed. He was suffering from tiredness and aches and pains which we put down to depression, being made redundant but it had got worse. He didn't want to go to the doctors so in desperation I spoke to the local chemist who recommended Co Q10 which in 2 days improved the pains and allows him to function much better. He still suffers tiredness but not the pains. He mentioned this at his recent MOT with the Diabetes Clinic, who said that they had never heard of this before and thought it dodgy..... His cholesterol is now lowered and remains between 4 - 4.5 - your comments welcome :?

Statins deplete the body of Q10, its recommended that its taken with statins. I think that until these HCP's are struck down with something they blithely dish out dodgy advice and pills, and follow the party line. They don't further their qualifications with research. Got degree - job done. Such a shame.

Don't take the dreaded statin, you won't need CoQ10.

I have just stopped taking statins after 5 years because of the muscle pains and cramps. have to admit that i tended o forget to take that more often than not.because i never acually had a problem wih my cholesterol - they were just dished out to all on diagnosis .Whenever I did take hem however they had this effect.
I finally got around to mentioning this at my annual review. {The only time I am allowed to speak to a Dr about my diabetes}.

Because my HDLs had risen and this mage my ratio a little higher she prescribed 10mg per day of ezetimibe 0a non statin choleserol lowering drug instead.

Do you all hink It might be a good idea for me to take CoQ10 for a while anyway? I used to ake it prior to diagnosis but since diagnosis and my exteme reacion o metformin most supplements have caused upse stomach. This settleds down after a time but i am wondering if it is worth the effort. Would be grateful for your thoughts. Thanks.
