I have been testing for a few days now & seem to fall in the non-diabetic range but a couple of results have raised questions for me.
First of all I was wondering if a pre-dinner reading of 3.4 is a problem for someone like me ie: pre-diabetic/no meds? I didn't feel awful or anything but the guidelines start at 4 so I was a bit curious.
Another question concerns my 2 hour readings. I've had a couple where my pre-meal was say 4.7, my one hour was 4.8 & my 2 hour was 4.9. Given it is still rising (albeit by a tiny amount) do I need to check it again at say 2 1/2 or 3 hours? Meals are low carb, moderate protein & higher fat. I understand that these are good numbers & well within range I just wonder if they shouldn't drop again 2 hours after eating.
If it's still rising then no harm in seeing how high it's rising but your figures sound pretty good.
Don't fall for we should all have the same numbers like many appear to.
It could become obsessive in chasing numbers you're not going to get and probably don't need.
Anything below four for me and I can feel it before testing which means for me anything below 4 needs attention but nothing urgent.
If it isn't a problem for you then don't make it one.
Not everyone feels Awful or experienced difficulties when their B/G is at 3.8 mmol/L, but that level is really too low. You should ideally be averaging somewhere around 5.8 mmol/L as the starting point and keeping any rise to 2.0 mmol/L within the 2 hour period.
As JackTheLad says, we aren't all the same, but I would still be a little concerned with readings of 3.8 mmol/L
The meters are only accurate to + or - 15% so if your bs level was 4·0 your meter could read any thing between 3·4 to 4·6 so don't stress over a few points here and there, your numbers are brilliant. Well done

I am working my way through the older posts gradually & finding answers here & there but there is just so much information!
I have discovered that fat can delay spikes so I'm pretty sure that's whats happening with my post meal numbers. I didn't know about the meter accuracy stuff though so that has put my mind at ease (which is also better for blood sugar I believe )
