Does anyone have suggestions of what is good to eat upon waking? I don't mean breakfast - I tend to have that 1-2 hours after waking up - but more a little something to level me out before I get up. All I can think of is cereal but that feels too sugary (as I don't want it to affect my pre breakfast test too much) same with fruit. Probably not relevant but I'm a veggie so no meaty suggestions please. Thanks in advance

I’m up at 6.30 and used to have a couple of digestives with my tea prior to porridge or cereal later. All changed now.
I started trying keto nut bars and have gone through lots of different brands to find the best one for me. Some are too sweet, some the nuts are too big/hard others have had a detrimental effect on my gut.
I now have a small 10gm carbs bar with my early tea and then later I’ll have eggs or other proteins for breakfast.
I’m trying to do without the early tea though in an effort to fast for longer. But unlike some I wake with low blood glucose and will get the shakes if I don’t eat something. I’m waiting on an appointment with the diabetic dietitian to discuss other options…possibly a protein shake.
Best wishes.

Macadamia nuts are handy to have around. Around £20 per kilo if you buy them in that quantity

Have a savoury breakfast, recommended by the Glucose Goddess, which I'm trying at the moment. First thing in the morning have anything protein
