I have been getting up on a morning for the past few weeks and experiencing high blood readings usually above 8.5 but occassionally above 10 upto 14 for one. I keep a pattern diary or exactly a spreadsheet of what I have eaten and there doesn't seem to be any pattern too it at all. I have eat reasonably healthly and stick to what I know raises it.

Every other time of the day, I am generally within range so It's puzzling to say the least.

I have been on the glipiride 1mg for a few monthes now and I am wondering if that is having a reaction with my statins that I am taking as well which are pravastatin 10mg. Before I go to the doctors, I thought I'd see any one else has had similiar issues.

Statins have been known to cause blood glucose rises ... are you on them for a specific reason?

Only a general one that was 6.3
Well my last one was 6.3 and statins were barely mentioned (although I must admit I did shut the doctor down as soon as he mentioned cholesterol). If you were given statins on the basis of a total cholesterol reading then your doc needs a bit of education IMO.
