Hi all,
I have had type 1 diabetes for 11 years and im also 8+4 weeks pregnant.
my problem is I just cant seem to get my sugar levels at a normal range in the mornings. They tend to always be high first thing - ranging from 9-14 this has always been the case even before being pregnant, but of course I am even more concerned now as I need to keep tighter control.
I have put my alarm on during the night to test and it seems my bs creeps up slowly overnight. For example
before bed at 10pm I tested at 7.1
at 00:00 8.4 (took 1 unit novorapid)
at 03:00 8.6 (took 1 unit novo rapid)
7am 8.9
But last night i only took one correction throughout the night as i forgot to wake up on my second alarm and this morning my bs was 13.2
My insulin regime is novo raid and carb counting at a 1:1 ratio and 18u lantus around 10pm.
Has anyone got any advice or suggestions or been in a similar position I really want to get my levels in the morning right asap because Im scared for my unborn baby.
Thank you
