Hi
I have been type 2 diabetic for 2yrs but following my heart attack at Christmas my morning readings are getting higher at 7.8 before my breakfast,I am drinking at least 2-3 bottles water during the night & feel my mouth is constantly dry, should I be worried? Thanks

Hi @me2you49 and welcome!

The increased thirst is potentially a sign of blood sugars rising, but while the morning reading sounds a bit raised, it’s difficult to say what might be going on from that alone.

What are your readings like before and after meals? What were your previous morning readings and have there been changes in your HbA1c (I’m assuming you’ve had at least a couple more since your diagnosis)?

Finally have your health problems meant a change in what you eat?
