Oh goshI had a look at slim fast powder shakes and it's a wooping 38g of carbs per serving - even I need insulin for that.
You're not stupid. We all make mistakes.Oh goshI am so stupid for not reading the label properly. That will be thrown out. Thank you for your advice.
Thank youThis is likely to be what is known as Dawn Phenomena which is the body's way of giving us enough energy to start our day. The liver will splurge glucose at or very near the time we wake which is why fasting readings can be higher than later in the day.
One of the reasons for the over-splurge of glucose from the liver is what is called fatty liver and fruit, even limited fruit, because of the fructose will slow down the process of ridding the liver of its fat reserves. Fat in the liver can interrupt signalling so the liver carries on splurging when there is no need to. As you lose fat from the liver you should begin to see lower readings but this can take some time.
Thank youIt is not unusual for our morning readings to be higher and to take longer to come down.
This is due to Dawn Phenomenon - our body dumps glucose into our blood to give us the energy to get moving. This happens to most people. Unfortunately, those with defective pancreas, struggle to release the insulin to convert the glucose to energy,
Some people have some techniques to reduce this - take a look around the forum for "Dawn Phenomenon"

That's for sure. Before I started on Slimfast my numbers were 6.6 to 7....just dont know why I didn't think.....hey ho we live to try again. Thanks so much...You are not stupid, we all learn so keep your eye on nutritional labels. Some are very sneaky
