Anyone ever suffer from false hypos first thing in the morning, take bloods and they range between 8-9.5, but still feels like I am starting to have a hypo, but obviously I am not (by the reading), bloods level out during the day to around 7. So not overly concerned, just bemused

when my blood glucose suddenly rises after eating a lot of the wrong kinds I get a sweaty overheated feeling like hot flashes all over my body, this sometimes also happens when I have this Dawn Phenomenon in the mornings even without eating anything at all, also when my insulin rises and knocks my blood glucose down I feel like that... so what I am suggesting is that you maybe can get this feeling of a hypo from quite opposite reasons... maybe your feeling of hypo was sooner caused from a rapid rise in blood glucose from the Dawn Phenomenon where morning blood glucose rises rapidly even without eating... just a suggestion ...?

Had you had anything to eat or drink before you felt like this?

The reason I ask is some people can feel when they are having a liver dump; although what the individual actually feels is very individual. If your early morning tests are higher than the rest of the day, there's a possibility that could be the reason.

If it happens every day, you could do some intensive testing from as soon as you wake, but that's up to you.

Did you by any chance have a cup of tea or coffee before feeling this? I only ask because I often used to feel this way first thing after sitting down to drink a cup of tea. As it has always happened, long before diagnosis, I put it down to my blood pressure going up sharply. I have my own BP monitor and this does seem to be the case for me. It goes up about 10 points systolic but returns to my normal lowish levels soon after. I have stopped the morning cuppa and now just drink decaf coffee.
