High readings
Why is it that before I go bed my readings are fine then after my night insulin when I’m getting up they are higher then after taking morning insulin for my breakfast with a little extra to try bring it down it goes even higher again,it’s only just started doing this, anyone with a possible reason

This is very common. It is called Dawn Phenomenon - our livers helpfully dump glucose to give us the energy to start the day.
A healthy pancreas would produce the insulin needed but we have to rely on injected insulin.

Why you've started seeing it now? All I can say is that our bodies are constantly changing it may be the weather, your fitness, other drugs, ...

What others have already said is most likely the case. The Dawn Phenomenon. I have had this for years, it started up as i came out of puberty and has been there ever since. I managed to hone mine in the sense that i know what needs to be done to combat it, after a lot of trial and error I learned that i need to inject 4 units in the morning to combat the rise (and it needs to be done as soon as i wake up otherwise i will end up with high levels until the insulin starts working). That 4 units is taken regardless of whatever else i need to (so if i wake up high already then i need to correct the high + 4 units... if i eat breakfast straight away too then i need correct, inject 4 units and inject for breakfast). Some mornings i inject an alarming of insulin if my level is high already but it works for me.

I do have the odd occasion where the 4 units isnt needed and thats usually when im well rested (a saturday morning after a good nights sleep and ive woken up very slowly). However, this is hard to take a guess at and sometimes i cause a hypo.

It took me a while to trust the process, injecting 4 units every morning regardless of food intake and sugar level seemed like danger but eventually I trusted my own findings and proved to myself it works.

For background, my last hba1c was 47mmol and i consider myself an excellently controlled diabetic nowadays. My suggestion would be to start low and track your progress to learn what your liver is kicking out every morning, it will be different for everyone so certainly dont copy my findings above. Start with 1 unit (plus corrections and carb intake) and see what happens, if you find yourself correcting every day for a couple of days then increase it 2 units etc. etc.! Slow and steady and you will figure it out.

By all means send me a DM if you have any questions!
