I have fallen off the sugar wagon and can’t get back on. I don’t have a confidant. Getting very tired with all the fall yard work and nothing to reward myself with but food. Any suggestions?

Hello @Penroy

Virtual hugs first.

My suggestion is to start thinking about low carb things that are treats. I'm very much a comfort eater so I totally get. Some suggestions below- but there are many others.

Savoury
cheese
beef jerky
proscuittio
parmesan cheese crisps (spread some parmesan cheese on some baking paper, put it in the microwave and microwave for about 1 min (depending on quantity and microwave) wait for it to cool. Have with pate or olive dip or something

Sweet
diet jelly (I freeze it and have it with cream- takes longer and has a crunch)
Cream with sugar free maple syrup
keto custard- google the recipe
strawberries- cut up so it seems more with cream.

There's a few let us know what sorts of things work for you so we can come up with more ideas.

The other thing I would say is to fill up on proper food (mainly protein with some fats). Eg:
a steak
crispy skin salmon
just the burger from a McDonald- in Australia we have an Angus burger at McDonald which is just beef, I eat the cheese of course but not the bun or sauces-my chooks get those.
eggs and bacon

Glad you posted this @Penroy as this has happened to me this week, it’s been an absolute nightmare and all my own doing. :arghh: I’m looking forward to reading all the suggestions from this lovely supportive group.

Thank you @VashtiB for posting the suggestions. You've also reminded me it helps if I write down a loose menu so I know I have the food available to cook and eat :D
