When I was first diagnosed with type 2 I went into complete 'diabetic'mode to the extent I was not eating properly, boring everyone around me to death ' my diabetes' etc. After a year i realised that this was with me for the rest of my life and there are times when you just have to kick back a bit, my trouble is I kicked back to much lost focus and nearly lost a big toe. Fortunately it was caught in time and all that went was the whole nail. I decided that I needed something that constantly reminded me that Diabetes was still there waiting to jump on me. I now walk around with my imaginary Snow Tiger, she follows me everywhere and if i have been good she purrs, if I have been bad she will growl and occasionally wack me one. She is sitting under the table as I type this and has been purring for a few days now. This might sound really silly to a lot of people about a really serious subject , but my Tiger keeps me on the straight and narrow ( most of the time) and I know she will be with me till the day I die. ( i just have to be careful not to talk to her when others are around LOL  )
