Mounjaro is meesing with my digestion. I've had a couple of times recently with total blockage followed by diarrhoea and vomiting for days. I am up now but still haven't eaten for 3 days. I'm on 7.5mg and have been for over a year.

Are there any newer tablet meds about that don't increase appetite? I'm thinking of coming off the mounjaro.

Hi Lemonie, I take Rybelsus tablets, they are the oral version of semaglutide (the drug in Ozempic injections). I have been lucky and not had any side effects. Along with a low carb diet it keeps my blood sugars at a normal level and has also allowed me to lose a shed load of weight due to the appetite lowering effect of the tablets.

I took Rybelsus tablets but they made feel nauseous.

About 4 years ago I had Trulicity, an alternative to Mounjaro etc. Over 2 years I lost 6 stone. Unfortunately my GP decided I didn’t need it any more so stopped prescribing it. The inevitable happened, I gained weight. After a year I asked my GP and my diabetes nurse if I could start taking it again but unfortunately there was a worldwide shortage of it. Now supplies are steady and I started it again 3 months ago.

Have you spoken to your GP or diabetes nurse about an alternative jab to Mounjaro? You may find you have fewer problems with a different one.
