hello all. I'm a 22 year old male and have been a type1 diabetic for the past 5 years. I am now looking to move abroad within a years time. Im hoping to move to America, and would like to know if i would need a special visa as I am hoping to be able to work for 6 months to 1 year. now with being diabetic is there any recrictions on the visa, and could having diabetes result in me not being able to get one, and if I was successful would it be expensive for the healthcare? I am hoping to work for a friend who is a self employed builder, so i am not sure if he would be able to sponsor me

Hiya,

I worked in the states for eight months. Getting a visa was not a problem as it was less than a year and I had a job to go to. Having diabetes made no difference whatsoever. I did have to pay for healthcare out there. It wasn't cheap but, as you pay less tax/NI out there, it didn't work out much different.

Good luck with it! Where you thinking of going?

If you want to go to abroad to visit any doctor or hospital, then first of all you need to visit for the visa and for this you should have a valid visa. As there are many types of visas such as visitors visa, student visa and working visa, you can apply according to your need. You should have your all original documents when applying for visa.
