I'm Moving to Spain in April and was wondering if anyone knows how much insulin I can take out there with me, also I understand I will have to pay for my prescriptions, anyone no the cost. Will be living there for 6 months, was hoping to take over enough stuff to last me, but not sure if I'm allowed

I have lived in Spain for 15 years you pay 40% of the Cost of normal medicines and 10% of diabetic medication . Test strips here are very expensive 44 euros a pot of 50 ! This is if you are under 65

I get test strips for free from the enfermera.

"edited" I've just called the doctor's receptionist, strips are free for all diabetics in Spain. Just make an appointment with the enfermera.

In Andalucia you are only allowed a pot a year and the nurse has to get a special perscription signed by doctor to authorize it . My husband has a business here and I have had my health care covered by his social security payments for the last 15 years When I was recently on oxicodone ( morphine) painkillers 40 mg I had to pay the 40 % of this And at 150 euros a box they were costing me 60 euros a month. I can't believe Spain gives anything without charge as they are in such financial difficulties big demonstrations here when pensioners had to pay 10% for perscriptions.
