Is it safe for a type 1 diabetic to take multi vitamins. My son was going to buy some yesterday but the box says they matabolize carbohydrates. Does any one know what this means? will they affect his insulin or make his blood sugar too low. ps sorry about spelling?

I really doubt that the multivitamins will do anything of the sort (for a start, they'd require a warning that they cause hypos). The claim sounds like they are trying to get by the FDA (which means they can't make any specific medical claims without evidence, but stuff like "promotes wellness" is fine because it doesn't actually mean anything) while still appealing to their target audience.

Ive been taking 2 different multi vits for many years and im thinking of stopping as i have never noticed any difference.

Unless your found to be deficient you can get all the vits and minerals from your food, simply by eating a varied diet rich in fruit & vegetables.
