Multivitamins making my stomach hurt?

I take the well man multi vitamins for women and yesterday I took it on an empty stomach. About 3 hours later my stomach felt so painful - a mixture of cramps and bloated ness and i then checked the label and it said don't eat on an empty stomach. Does anyone know why? My god it hurt so much!!

no but then I would feed them to the rubbish bin after that

The same thing has happened to me before. I think it might be the magnesium in them. Or one or more other ingredients. I don't take multivitamins these days, as I think my diet is varied enough to supply what I need.
