I will cut the story short but due to tinkering of my Mum's medication, she ended up in hospital on Saturday 8th with 2 TIA's and sky high Blood sugar levels of 28. She was on Gliclazide 80mg 3 times a day until Tuesday 4th when the gliclazide was stopped. They used a sliding scale saline/insulin until her reading was 8.8.
They put her back on Gliclazide 80mg once a day on Monday 10th, and changed this to 120mg daily on Wednesday, when I told them she had been on 3 x 80mg daily yesterday they changed it to that. Now they are discharging her although her levels are still raised and have changed her back to 80mg daily. What should I do, I am worried as I do not want a repeat of last weekend.
We have never regularly tested her levels (not advised to do so by our surgery) but plan to do so now.
by the way she is 94.
Help please
