I was on semaglutide daily tablets 3g..
that is similar and worked a treat initially but GLP1 slows down your Vegas nerve and peristaltic wave..
chemist upped me to 7g as thats the 'norm' and I went from 1 day to 3 days digesting food..
Not good at all took many GP visits to get it reduced back to 3g, but it didn't matter and my Vagus nerve didn't reset until I found out about chia seed pudding..
now I eat home made chia/flax/coconut/cocoa/manuca honey pudding in a small glass.
Finally got back to a day. unfortunately semaglutide lost its magic and cravings came back..
I had a root canal infection that had been hiding and recently I found out that root canal bacteria love GLP1 and degrade it so ORAL GLP1 stops working.. as mouth biome destroys it before its absorbed.
2 months ago I was put on MJ weekly injections.. 2.5g a week.
As its not oral and i inject it into my thigh, the GLP1 effect is working again and I'm finding it easy to not take sugar in coffee, not to eat too much as have lower appetite, and more importantly walk past the chocolate/sweets in Lidl.
I still do buy the 85% chocolate and cocoa, chia, flax, coconut, lactose free milk but for health reasons not treats.
I inject MJ 2.5g on sunday evening..
Since I started my numbers are single figures in morning and I can delay breakfast.
Don't ask GP to prescribe MJ.. I don't think they can as you have to be given guidance on how to inject etc.
Ask them for referral to diabetes specialist and then ask them.
Out of my personal experience..
both semaglutide GLP1 and MJ GLP1 work but they (chemist/GP) will want you to increase the dose.
because the lower dose isn't produced as much. It's easier for the chemists/manufacturers.
But that can sabotage you and if your Vegas nerve/peristaltic wave slows its very hard to get it back.
TIP!
Use the initial lack of cravings to change your life style..
Increase fibre, berries , cruciferous veg (broccoli, spinach, cauliflower), nuts.. take Vit D + K2 , and B1,6 and definitely metyl-B12 (especially if on metformin)
start dancing to radio and increasing small exercise- google tai chi. Swim/Cycle/walk
Also drink apple cider 2 caps or any vinegar in 1/2 glass of water before a calorie filled meal.
Cook starchy things like rice, potatoes, pasta and don't eat them but cool overnight in fridge..
Then it feeds your gut biome, doesn't just spike your glucose as much and protects your mucosa gut lining,
hindering the ImP/LPS and the systemic inflammation that diabetes 2 is.

if you do get a craving for chocolate eat a spoon full along with a hot drink..
