Hi all,
So, I am going to a couple of music festivals shortly and wanted some advice!
These things are notorious for not having healthy eating options!! And our tent doesn't have electric hook-up (and hence no fridge/microwave!)...so what can I take to eat!!!
Thanks in advance,
Mike

Are you camping there? That sounds awesome! I haven’t camped at a festival, but have tailgated a lot and just stayed long periods of time for concerts. I’ve attended a lot of concerts In the US.

The prepared food at venues is usually pretty pricy, but at least it’s an option. They may serve lamb, beef, shrimp or chicken kabobs. They are a good protein. You might find frozen yogurt, but that can be pretty sweet, so beware of carbs. Now days, some serve food bowls that might have a meat and veggies. Not sure how you handle carbs. I count and bolus for them. If you can carry a cooler, you might consider boiled eggs, cheese, pears, apples, berries, canned tuna, peanut butter, veggie sticks. I don’t handle cold cereal or protein bars well, so I steer clear of them. I carry juice, in case I go low and peanut butter and crackers as a backup. Also, I prepare to be low as I always get drops in BG when I have alcohol. I have to snack before drinking. I’d take plenty of supplies like insulin, sensors, test strips, etc. depending on what you use daily, chargers, batteries, etc.

This is so exciting. I hope you’ll get more suggestions. Please post more about it.

Are you sure there won’t be any decent food vendors? I’m going to a couple of festivals this year too, and was banking on a hog roast or decent burgers. I’d take my own low carb rolls ( I buy SRSLY rolls, the best low carb ones in my opinion https://seriouslylowcarb.com )
If I don’t know what food will be available I pack nuts and olives. Salami and cheese will keep happily in a cool bag with an ice pack. You can take the ‘no drain’ tins of tuna too.
Have fun.
