My boyfriend feels...uninspired

Hi,

My boyfriend was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes and it's a huge weight on his shoulders.
Every day i ask him to do his tests when he is due to take them and almost every time he rejects my request and just tells me he doesn't feel like it or he can't be bothered. I am very persistent with him about it but sometimes i feel like he just thinks "she has no idea." I understand, i know i have never gone through something so hard, I wish i could take it away from him or just fully understand, but i obviously don't.
I have become more and more worried for his health, he doesn't usually have good results and he knows it's because of his lacking in testing daily, that just isn't enough for him.
I need a way to get him to want to test, some kind of 'prize' or gesture...I know that sounds completely patronizing but i have run out of options, i need to help. It hurts me deeply to know that he isn't looking after himself properly because i just love and care for him so so so much. Please, someone help me!? :cry:
NOTE: We are in a long distance relationship so i cannot provide any 'physical' gestures but anything that can be sent or saved up/given to him over a long period of time would be great. Thank you for your time <3

Sometimes fear is a better motivator ... I certainly am motivated by the fact that I don't want to have my feet amputated as many diebetics do. I don't want to go blind, like my grandmother did, and I don't want to die of kidney failure like she did either. But maybe he is rebelling, if you didn't say anything and gave him some space he might take the initiative ... tough place to be Gabriella, keep strong !

Rather than keeping on about persistence testing, why not do your best to get him to join the forum?
He can then read and learn from our first hand experiences as well as find answers for questions he has probably not even thought about yet.
