Not quite sure where to stick this thread, but anyone in Somerset who has registered on this website may like to know that it should be up and fully functioning in about two weeks' time. This is based on the very successful MDMW website in Scotland. The site has taken its time to get going but fingers crossed... https://somerset.mydiabetes.com/ (It's only for patients registered with a practice in Somerset.)

whatever you do don't follow their dietary recommendations... no fat mostly carbs and fruit..seems to be going down the WFPB route.

Hi @NicoleC1971 - I only know of this group in the area https://taunton-and-district.diabetesukgroup.org/ - I'm not sure that would be suitable? It's a bit of a desert as regards support/education, as usual! I attend a practice-run group which is very good but it's in the south of the county.

Crikey, @bulkbiker - I didn't suss that out from the website! The food section links to The Other Site and I would think most members here would work out that, being an NHS-led service, the Spawn of Satan, aka the Eatwell Plate, would be there or thereabouts.,... I will use it to obtain test results etc - I'm certainly not interested in WFPB!

Edited to add: Having said the above, I do think it's a good idea to have a 'point of contact' for patients and also so that they can become pro-active in their care, which is hopefully what the website will do, dodgy diet advice aside.
