I called my surgery to make a complaint.
To find out the practice manager has left. Also told that the two diabetic nurses have also left.
Now only a part time head nurse and two part time nurses, to which are unable to do the annual diabetic reviews.
For a smallish surgery, to me this is bad.
I will ask my pdoc.Ally - You still have to make the complaint. That they can't keep staff isn't your problem. It's theirs.
Bearing in mind how you feel about your GP, relating to your diabetes, I'd ask to be transferred to hospital care. If your GP won't do it, I'd ask your psychiatry chap if he would press for it on your behalf.
As the practice manager has left, I have no idea who to make the complaint tooAlly, your surgery has always been under par. I urge you to continue with your complaint. I'm not sure how you do this as I'm not well up on these things, but someone on this forum will know.
Mmmmmm one wonders why the staff are abandoning ship. Perhaps it isn't too surprising.

Ask to see the doctor who is head of the practice they have to do diabetes reviews at least annually so their responsibility to see they are doneAs the practice manager has left, I have no idea who to make the complaint too
Thank you for the informationThe senior partner of the Practice.. they should have an up to date list of people on their website. If not, write to NHS ENGLAND and ask them to look at the staffing levels and facilities at your practice and you could also write to the CQC...
I have looked into another surgery. The one I would like to join, am not in their catchment area.Could you try another surgery nearby or in the next town. Do persist, you need to know how you are.
I will look into seeing the head gp. I do like her and is a favourite one. She does get very booked up and only works part timeAsk to see the doctor who is head of the practice they have to do diabetes reviews at least annually so their responsibility to see they are done

I could try for a phone consultation with her but it does depend on the day who does those. Though I will try.Can you write to her personally (in confidence and private letter or email?) or ask for a telephone consult?
I realised the two DN, S we had were more then uselessMy GP took over the diabetic reviews when the diabetic nurse in my surgery retired and wasn't replaced. There was a bit of an organisational nightmare in the transfer (where the receptionist refused to make me a 3-month appointment "because we don't do that for diabetic reviews", even though the GP had told me to) but that's all straightened out now and the GP apologised as I wasn't the only person it happened to.
Overall I've been very happy with my GP's approach (and conversely realising just how useless the DN was).

I will try and get onto the preferred gp rather then the one I haveYou may be better off with this GP that you like. It is worth heading in that direction. As she is part of the same surgery, is it possible to have her as your registered GP rather than the useless one?
