Hi thank you for letting me join . My Grandson was diagnosed type 1 diabetes in May of this year, he was just 7 years, it's been so hard adjusting to our new way of life esp when eating out the obstacles that are there when carb counting. Diabetes was already close to my heart as we lost a dear friend called Ben to type 1 diabetes he was just 25 years old. At my knitting group I make knitted displays to help raise awareness for health conditions and for Jan it's on diabetes. So any hints and advice would be greatly received. Esp on how to obtain leaflets etc.

Hi there. I'm sorry to hear your grandson has been diagnosed. I hope he is doing well. Often small children adapt and accept the condition more readily than those a bit older, perhaps in their teenage years.

In terms of diabetes imagery, you'll probably have several suggestions. In terms of leaflets, this site is wholly digital, so nothing physical, unless things have changed in ultra recent times.

In terms of other sources, it might be helpful to contact Diabetes UK. They should be able to provide something useful, and maybe direct you to resources or groups in your area.
