Hi all
I joined this site about 17 years ago and during the past times I posted about my journey on the Newcastle diet, which led to me losing two stone and becoming non diabetic. Unfortunately in the ensuing years a lot has happened culminating in me contracting covid and the at the same time had a stroke! It was a bleed not a blockage. That was three years ago and thankfully I don’t have too many deficits. Then Long came Mojarro this is a drug that has potential life changing benefits for diabetics. I’m 15 stone nine now and my sugars aren’t in good control.

I’m lucky that my doctor has agreed to allow me to be prescribed mounjaro on on the NHS. So, I started last Monday with my first 2.5 mg injection of Mojarro at the moment. I have no side-effects and I’m feeling good. I checked my blood sugar at the start of this journey and it was 16.5, I also take Metformin, four tablet a day, Gliclazide, three tablet today and various other medications as a result of the stroke.
I am nine days in and have taken my second 2.5 mg injection and I checked my sugars today at lunchtime and they were seven, that is amazing. I haven’t really changed my my diet and my appetite up until today strangely was also unchanged, but today I definitely feel less hungry or interested in food, maybe it’s psychological but regardless this is the start and I will continue to post on a biweekly basis. I will keep you up to speed with my weight loss and also how I feel good luck guys.

Hi there Geordie90! I. So glad to hear you are doing well on Mounjaro, I will be seeing my diabetic nurse on the 8th April as the Diabetic Dietitian has recommended I start Mounjaro as my Diabetes ( steroid induced ) isn’t being controlled, even with 2 different insulins and empagliflozin, and the fact that my weight is creeping up too. I do hope it works for me too.

Good luck with your journey with Mounjaro.
