Hi everyone, i posted a couple of weeks ago about how the optician found that i had had a haemorage behind my eye and sent me to my GP for blood tests for Diabetes and BP. I told you i would let you know the results.

Good news is i am not dabetic.
Bad news is i have dangerously high BP and am on Ramipril from today. My thyroid is slightly underactive and is being monitored from now on. I also have to have more tablts introduced for high colestrol and blood thinning. But the main thing is to get my BP down to a safe level first.

Thankyou all for the reassurances i have been given. I have learned a lot about eating a healthy diet. My eyes seem to have returned to normal, which is really good.
Hugs pammi.

Hi Pammi,
Good news about the diabetes, shame about the rest though!

I hope the meds do the trick and good luck to you.

good news on the eyes. Keep up the healthy eating!

Hmmm, well high BP and high cholesterol are part of the "Metabolic Syndrome" so I strongly suspect your BG is also high but "not diabetic yet" and you'd be best off acting as if you were in terms of diet and exercise.

It would be helpful if they'd actually give you the numbers, especially for the thyroid. Low thyroid is not uncommon alongside diabetes and is another of those conditions easily treated but in many parts of the country treatment is refused until you are almost comatose. I know several people who have reported stunning improvements by moving somewhere where it is taken seriously and finally getting treatment back to normal numbers.
