Mysugr & Hba1c

Might need a mysugr expert for this one ...

My A1c on Tuesday was 41 down from 60. I've been using mysugr to record my BG readings and it has consistently predicted 58. I know there is a margin of error, but that's a lot and I would like to realign that going forward. I added the A1c result but it's not changed anything. Is there anything I can do?

It calculates the HbA1c number based on the data you enter.

I test on waking. Before and after meals and again at bedtime. So around 8 times a day.

I am assuming that you are T2. Testing before and after meals is essential to manage the condition. Having said that, you look to be doing very well.

Have you checked your weekly, bi weekly, monthly stats? The graph might indicate that there are not enough entries to produce accurate estimated HbA1c.

That may be your answer. I get pretty accurate results but I test more, minimum 4 x a day, maximum 7. Are you just testing post meals, if so you are obviously missing some lower readings. I bet it was a nice surprise when you got 41!
 
@xfieldok I had a lot of entries in Jan/Feb where my testing results were high and I only tested 2x a day, more recently it is 6x a day (although just been on holiday ignored the meter and just ate sensibly without testing rigorously).

I was hoping to "reset" the A1c but sounds like I just need to work through it

I have no intention of being "officially" diabetic for long LOL the quicker I can get that down and off meds the better.

You can record your HbA1c, press the + button and scroll down to the end. But the calculations are based on the data you enter.

I think if you test more you will get a more accurate estimate.

Of course budget may be a factor for you. If you can do it, test more and hopefully, by the time your next HbA1c comes around, it will be in sync with mySugr.
 
Thanks, I have some this and as I use a SD codefree the cost isn't too prohibitive
