Hi all
Hope you’re all well! I have just been diagnosed with TD2 a few days ago and I’m still transitioning slowly onto a healthier diet and exercise I want to no is Nando’s sauce good or bad for me ? My reading on my bloods was 89 so very high and the sauce doesn’t seem to seem that bad from the nutritional info but wanted to see what everyone’s opinions / experience is I’m only having the sauce with my food not eating a whole Nando’s meal
Thank you all stay well
Hi
@Lolabelle
It's usually a good idea to limit carbs by checking nutrition content.
I usually check on any supermarket website if I'm curious .
This one's ocado, doubt others are much different
But with sauces it's all about quantity, I think.
Ketchup can be high, but just a dollop I'm fine with ...drinking it by the bottle ..not so good
Best idea, if you haven't already got one, is get a glucose meter.
Trust me it's going to be your best friend for the coming months & years.
Try your meal, but test your blood before first bite
Then test your blood 2 hours after
A rise of over 2 mmol is seen as poor .
Mean you might need to use/eat less or give it up.
But we're all different in how we react, that's why testing ourselves is SO important.
Good luck, I hope it's within your limits.
