Results from the first year of the new National Diet and Nutrition Survey (NDNS) suggest that the UK population is eating less saturated fat, less trans fat and less added sugar than it was 10 years ago.

It will be even more interesting to see the data. The percentage of total energy consumed for those items has decreased, but what about the total energy intake? Increased, decreased? The article doesn't tell us about that. From the previous figures,It does seem probable that added sugar consumption peaked some years ago now, (but they keep changing the basis of the figures so comparison is really difficult)
