Hey all quick question
I've been diabetic for 9 yrs and recently started eating a lot of natto miso tofu edamame and soy related goods ( just love the taste )
Anyways what I've noticed is that on days when I include one or more of them in my meal I tend to have really low reading and sometimes I go hypo anyone got an explanation?? Coz I'm actually a tad addicted to the taste especially natto

Re: Natto?? miso??

Hi Matilda,
I'm going out on a limb here, but knowing that pulses are very low GI and tend to release the glucose very slowly, is it possible that miso soup, which is made out of soy bean would slow down the glucose of other foods you are consuming? you know how the GI of different foods mess up with each other, so bread will be fast but bread with butter will be slower?

Never tried natto, but it seems to be beans too.
