Has anyone found a low sugar/low fat natural yogurt.
The zero or low fat options have 8-10% sugar and the lowest sugar I can find at 6% has 13% fat.
I am trying to keep my fat intake down, as my cholesterol has risen slightly and the D Nurse wants to give me tablets to lower it, but I don't want any more medication.
As usual all help much appreciated.
What is an "acceptable" sugar % content of an item ?

I had my doctors whinging on about cholesterol levels - they can keep their statins - they come with far too many potential side effects and there are other things to combat higher LDL levels - such as cinnamon (which is also good for diabetic sugar control). The doctors don't tell you that when you take statins you should supplement with Coenzyme Q10 - apparently the statins interfere with the body's ability to absorb this. Just remember you do need a certain amount of fat for both skin, hair, nails and other things. I did the whole low fat things a few years ago (before diagnosis) - and ended up with dry eyes!

Which bit of your cholesterol has risen slightly? The HDL, the LDL or the triglycerides? It is important to know this. The actual total cholesterol is meaningless. If you don't know, then do ask for a print out of the test results or see if your surgery puts them on-line.
