Got back yesterday from a week away in St Ives, Cornwall went with our with our daughter and son-in-law and have really had a bit of a naughty week. It is not so much what we ate but how much because we really ate a bigger amount of food than we would at home Had fish and chips twice from the recommended fish shop and they were awesome. I ate more bread than I would at home my daughter cooked breakfast every morning eggs bacon sausage mushrooms which was fine for us but I did have wholemeal toast with it and some garlic flat bread with the Thai green curry my daughter made we had vegetables with that instead of rice .Couldn't resist a couple of scones with jam and clotted cream and another Cornish cake I can't remember the name of and lovely apple crumble with rum and raisin ice cream when we ate out on the last night we were there. I gained a couple of pound in weight.. On the way there we spotted a Lidl's so went in there and bought some protein rolls they had plenty of them...my T2 husband was able to have those but I can't stand them. We did not test our blood once while we were there although I did take a meter but did not really want to know

I'm taking a vacation soon to New York City, the big apple. And you best believe I won't be eating caesar salads the whole time I'll be their. It sounds like you had a good time with your daughter and son in law.

Wishing you the best in your management and care

Just back from a day trip to the coast mainly to have a good brisk walk on the prom. However, the lure of fish and chips became too tempting and OH had cod and chipsin a box while I just had cod in a box. Just in and its about 2 hours since eating and my blood level is of no concern at all. So nice to know that I can occasionally have this treat. I feel very lucky.
