My 13 year old daughter was diagnosed with type 1 in December. She has coped really well. Recently she has been waking and feeling so sick. She throws up every morning before school. She can't eat anything as she feels so sick. Her blood sugar levels are good. Does anyone have any advice on ways to help with this?

What a nightmare and I'm sorry to hear this! Is she using Lantus as a basal insulin by any chance? Some folks report this as a side effect of Lantus(albeit uncommon).

Best wishes

How awful, it goes without saying that you should help from your daughters diabetes team or family gp.

Being sick on a morning is not something that is associated with diabetes (as far as I'm aware) so do seek help, if I were in your shoes I'd get her checked out tonight or over the weekend.

Thanks Paul......yes she is on Lantus. This has only started happening since we moved to the USA and she's had to get up so much earlier than she would at home. She has recently upped the dose.....so may be.??
It's horrible for her every morning. Appreciate your time and advice
