Hi, I'm Chantal, I'm 41 years old and have had Necrobiosis Lipoidica for 11 years. I don't have diabetes. I live in the Netherlands. I've tried all the ointments. Camouflage therapy, a bad one, didn't work at all. Small injections in the edges of the spots. I have large spots of spots, 10 cm across, on both my shins. I tried PUVA, which didn't work. I now have insulin injections, which is also used for people with Crohn's disease. I have to administer Crohn's myself every two weeks. I have another appointment in two weeks, but I don't see any change. I'm terribly ashamed of myself. I hate summer, even though I love summer so much. I often lock myself up at home. It makes me very unhappy. I'm at my wits' end. No one can talk about it. Until I saw this forum, I thought I was the only one in the Netherlands.

You say take insulin for it? Insulin is only usually used as a treatment for diabetes with daily injections, someone with Crohns disease wouldn’t treat it with insulin, are you sure it’s insulin you are using? It may be that the translation to English isn’t correct because your post also says “I have to administer Crohn's myself every two weeks” Crohns is a disease not a treatment.

A link below explaining what Necrobiosis Lipoidica is as I’m not sure we have any members with this condition. It appears to be a very rare condition
