Hi fiona 35
I know how devastating having to have a dog put to sleep can be. I hope you have a good vet. I used to breed and show and have had the experience several times. Thankfully, the last one I lost, about 4 years ago died peacefully on her own bean bag in front of the fire, after battling congestive heart failure for nearly a year. Her sister, had to be PTS, because she had pancreatic cancer. The vet and I sat on the floor with our arms round each other sobbing for half an hour. ( woman vet!)
I don't show any more, but I have a little family, Grandmother, son and his daughter. the old girl is 13 1/2 and totally blind, but intrepid. I found her on the back of the sofa the other day. How she didn't fall, I don't know.
The younger ones have been driving me bonkers barking at fireworks every night. It's bad enough, they hurl abuse at any passers by, worse if there's a dog there. They particularly hate the assistance dog, who lives at the end of our road. He walks by in his self-assured way, beside his charge's mobility scooter and my lot yell rudely through the fence.
