Hi and welcome to the forum :D

If you have a look around the forums you will find lots of posts about various diets etc people are using to manage their diabetes.

Here is a link to information for the newly diagnosed that you may find helpful.

Please ask as many questions as you like, someone is usually able to help :D

Hi Chloe and Welcome.

Quick list of some of the foods that are "safe" for me: eggs, bacon, chicken (skin on), fish, steak, regular minced beef, pork chops, avocados, raw almonds, all green leafy vegetables, cheese, cream, dark chocolate (70% cocoa or higher) -- real whole foods (minus the starchy ones) with minimal processing and packaging... especially avoiding refined/concentrated sugars and starches. I have no need to starve myself, nor do I have any concerns about eating natural fats.

Ultimately your Blood Glucose (BG) meter is the final test of what you can eat without raising your BG.

Combinations of food may also help: for example, instead on an whole apple try half an apples with some full-fat cheese or peanut butter (just crushed nuts no added sugar). Good luck!

Please stay around, read and ask questions :D
