Once I visited doctor for different issue, the doctor told me my blood level is over 300 and prescribed me medicine and advice me to buy the small machine to check my sugar level. At the same time after I bought the machine, I went to the doctor to show me how to use it, the nurse showed me and tested my blood, the reading was 100. I didn't take the pills and started to checking my sugar level daily, for quite a while my level was between 90 to 100. Then I stopped. After few months I decided to check the sugar level it was over 150, I got worried and continue checking on a daily basis first thing in the morning. My routine is that I go to work till5 and coming back home around 6 at that time I take my dinner and go to bed between 9 to 10. Every morning when I check my sugar level it seem to be on higher side 150-190. I started drinking bitter melon juice which it control and reduce. This week on Sunday I checked in the morning it was 190, went to work and when I went home after having sandwich I checked again and the reading was 205, I took the bitter lemon juice and checked again in the morning it went to 125. but within couple of days the level keep on increasing this morning the level was 205. I am confused I am not eating any sugar item, I do eat rice and sometime pasta. I use to take lot of sweet items but I stopped completely.

Is this normal? Can anyone help me in this. Sometime just to give hope to myself I feel that that machine doesn't give correct reading.

Welcome to the forums @MODDYA ,

If I follow your post correctly you are asking about high readings in the mornings?

This is most likely due to the fact that your liver stores glucose for various reasons, one of them being so that some can be released to give you a kick start and help you get going in the morning.

This is often referred to as dawn phenomenon, if you search for this usin the box in the top right corner you will find several threads about it and potential remedies.

Thanks will search. But is this part of diabetic?

No it happens to non diabetics but they produce their own insulin so their bodies sort it out for them, The insulin carries glucose to the muscles and brain where it gets used. Without medication we don't have that luxury so the glucose has nowhere to go.
