I had dinner this evening at around 6.30pm did my novorapid etc after 2 hours my blood sugar was 8.8, I did a further unit to correct the reading, looked again at 10ish it was 10.3. I did 2 more units of novo rapid checked again after 45 minutes it was 11.0 any ideas?!?!? Slightly confused actually...

What did you eat? Was there a lot of fat or lots of protein and very little carb?
Failing that is your insulin okay? Have you dropped your pen, got it hot or anything?
Or you may be coming down with something.
Hope you sort it.

A possible explanation me thinks :)

Woke up this morning with a blood sugar of 9.8 before breakfast, my levels have always been like 5ish in the mornings and cold symptoms have gone now. Suppose it just shows how it is a progressive disease! Been told to increase my Levemir by the DSN so will see how that makes a difference!

Hi Daniel.
Even though you think the cold symptoms have gone?
You may still be brewing for something, as things change in the body and immune system
this leads to the raised blood sugars.

I would suggest keep an eye on yourself, this time of the year colds, bugs, viruses etc...
Can impact on your blood sugar levels and can take 4-5 days to reveal if indeed
this to be the case!
I started last weds with weirdly off scale bg levels till saturday it was clear it was a virus
responsible for my soaring unexplainable bg levels.

It is a pain to self manage I know , all we can do is to keep testing and adjusting the basal...
Hope things steer clear of a cold or a bug for you, and all settles down soon .

Anna.
