Type 1 Need help : switching from pump to levemir for the first time

I’ve been on insulin pump for 11 years (novorapid) and now i’m switching to levemir + novolin.

I’m on a high protein low carb diet for 6 months. I know I need to split my levemir dose ( low dose due to low carb dosen’t reach 24h) even thought my doctor said to do it once.

Right now my dose is 0,8u/h all day and 0,75 in my sleep (6h). 19 unit total.

I really don’t know how to dose. The first day is the hardest. Also when to take my second dose ? Before sleep ? ( wake up 8 am sleep 2 am).

Is there a way to convert my novorapid dose to levemir dose?

We cannot advise you on your doses, your healthcare team need to help you manage your changeover. It's against forum rules, also your doses are personal to your individual needs hence why your team need to be involved in this.

Out of interest why are you changing ?

Also i’m asking if the novorapid is more potent or the levemir. Should the levemir dose be lower than my current dose (20u) ?

Do you understand how insulin works ?
 
Do you mean the cannula set is popping up, please explain in more detail ?
 
Personally as a pumper I'd never want to move back to injections, my HbA1c is the lowest it's ever been and I would never be able to achieve this success on injections, hence why I'm interested to find out what issues you have, where are you placing your sets and are you having excess sweating ?

Which sets are you using and could you have a bad batch of sets ? Have you spoken to the manufacturer about this issue ?
 

It’s not made for such hot weather, i’m not the only one having troubles here. I never go out of my room in the summer for the last 10 years but i have to now since i’m working.

10 years 2 pumps many types of sets. Even, the ones that are made for workout ( they last longer but the needle is big and i have 0 fat ) i’m 29, 60 kg
 
Ok have you tried tape or tegaderm plasters ?
 
Sorry @dead_inside as mentioned we cannot advise on dose sizing.
However I am a pumper who was temporarily forced back on to injections recently.
My slow acting insulin is Lantus (as it was before pumping) and my pump was taking NovoRapid. My Lantus dose was about 10% higher than basal on a pump. This was not due to concentration of the insulin but the way it is delivered.
One thing I learnt in my recent experience is, if you have a choice when to disconnect your pump, do so at the time you want to take your slow acting insulin because as soon you stop pumping you have no basal on board.
