Hi guys, anyone that was pregnant in the early stages ever have really high blood sugars every morning. And even adjusting insulin still high? I'm going for a test today as my blood sugars are normally so controlled, and last two weeks I can't get them down at all :( I'm on nova rapid and lantus, and I feel like my insulin isn't working. I've tried testing at 3 in the morning and even then it's high. If anyone could help would appreciate it.

Have you increased your basal insulin (basal)
There's a pregnancy forum just down the board a bit have a look in there.

During the early stages of my pregnancy, my insulin doses practically doubled. Its the change in your hormones which will be causing problems.

As your pregnancy progresses, you will constantly need to change doses of both Lantus and Novorapid as your hormones are always changing.

Check your bgl every 2hrs, even through the night (a pain in the bum, or rather finger!!) But you will get a better understanding of whats happening. Make sure the slightest change is noted as things can change almost over night.

Good luck & congratulations on the pregnancy :D:D

Hi, I'm going for a pregnancy test I have all the symptoms but tried home tests one week ago and come up negative. So hoping to see a doctor this afternoon. As not feeling very well, and can't get my blood sugars down at all. Just frustrating :( I'm sure I'll get there in the end. Thanks you

Good luck at the doctors, sometimes a test can be a false negative, or worrying/stress can raise levels as well. Once you get a another test done ( to confirm or not) you can then go from there. Sometimes, with no rhyme or reason our sugar levels go a bit bonkers, I call that the diabetes fairy playing tricks.
All the best and hopefully you will get some proper answers x
