I suppose under the expanded definition of fasting that I fast also because I only eat in a window from 9 am to 4:30 pm, unless I need to correct for a low. I started this originally to help control asthma-because I get acid reflux at night if I eat after 6 pm and the acid reflux gives me an asthma attack at night. I have noticed that only eating in this window gives me better fasting numbers in the morning also.
It also occurs to me that the fasting pattern described above would be classed an eating disorder if we were all skinny but actually is a prescribed treatment for weight loss-although 7 days is kind of extreme.
I get hypo symptoms (and hypos) if I skip breakfast but I am on blood glucose lowering drugs. Happy dietary tinkering!
