Hi low carbing chaps, what would be a good idea for a low carb breakfast that you can take with you in the morning? For example, I make porridge at home at the crack of dawn when I get up, put it in a flask, take it to work and eat it there when I am a bit more awake 8) what kind of low carb options would I be able to use? Can't get my brain to think of anything other than cereal at the moment!

thanks in advance

How about yoghurt and fruit. Cheeses, cold meats, hard boiled eggs to which you could add tomato and salad bits.

thanks Synonym, am liking the cheese and cold meats idea! yum! have also thought about making some granola with oats and seeds etc to have with some yogurt..........I've had my first coffee, brain working a bit harder now

I have daily 'porridge' (not as we know it, Jim) with -
2 dsp ground almonds
1 dsp wheat germ
1 dsp oat bran
1 dsp milled seeds
1 saccharine
about 200 ml unsweetened soya milk
2 mins in m/wave, stir & another 1 1/2 mins - watch so it doesn't boil over!
That has about 15 g low GI carb compared with standard porridge about 35 g Med GI.

thanks Ian! liking the sound of the almonds, perhaps I could add some cinnamon added too

I do sometimes - mix it with the powder before adding the 'milk.'
