My name is Jean and I have just been diagnosed as type 2 diabetic i am catching every infection going at the minute just wondered if its my diabetis
 
Hi Jean, welcome to the forum.
How high are your sugar levels? It's surprising how much high sugar levels do affect your whole sense of well being, ability to heal and general health, so you may be more prone to infection. If you get your levels right down, you will be a New Woman!

Well you can be more prone, especially if your sugar is high.
Do you test your blood sugar?
I would keep a food diary, test before eating and 2 hours after until you can work out what foods work best for you. Some people prefer low GI. I had LCHF recommended to me and that works brilliantly for me. Read

If your doc won't give you a meter the cheapest ione I've found is the sd code free which is £12 but must be bought on line.
