I prefer the leanest but that doesn’t work on LCHF
I added grated cheese, which has fat in it and my mince mixture was distributed between 22 meatballs.
I can second the Waitrose ones mentioned earlier. Plus OH likes them which is a bonus.
I found Musks gluten free ones were good but they were a bit fatty for me.
Before going lchf I would have said the same. Hated it. Hated the smell of it even. I also have no gallbladder and was convinced that meant no fat too. However now is a different story. I very gradually added in the fat to allow both my mind and body to adjust slowly. I used to hate cream. Love it now. Always trimmed all the fat off bacon. Don’t do that either now. Even managed to eat some belly pork but do still need to trim it a bit. Mince was always the leanest. Now I use 20% but do pour any large excess off before continuing. There’s a variety of fats sources. Cheese, nuts, the right oils, butter not just meat fats.Yea I don’t like fat. Bit of a problem on LCHF![]()
Tescos (97% chicken) and lidl do chicken chipolatas, they aren't as fatty as pork but my bf enjoys them. They are quite filling, of course you can enjoy them on a salad or with eggs, as a snack because you get a few of them in a pack.
