Need to get bs down before operation.

IM type 2 on tabs Metformin I take 4 a day 500g blood sugar been good but over last 3wks been high 22.5 and 11.5 -12.5 which just took now I need help on how to get it down IM due to have a cataracts op soon and won't do it if sugar levels high
 
HI,
I don't know if you follow a Low Carb Diet, but that is one way to get your Blood levels down, it definatly works for me, and a lot of other type 2 members.
If you read the low carb/LCHF forums you will get the idea, also watch fruit it contains a lot of sugar.

Definitely recommend a low carb diet.

I was on maximum dose of Metformin and Gliclazide as well as insulin and now on no medication at all with great blood sugar results.

I did the Newcastle diet to lose weight and have been on a low carb diet (approximately 50g a day) for four months now and have maintained my weight as well as good blood sugars.
