Hi all!
I started on Omnipod (after 6 years on Aviva spirit combo pumping) just over a week ago! Really enjoying the extendable boluses and not being attached to any tubing!
However I am still getting used to where to wear them and how they feel in different locations etc.
I’ve put on quite a bit of weight over the last few years and can never seem to stick to any exercise! I don’t think I’ve found a type of exercise yet that I enjoy and can stick to regularly. I’m not a big fan of gyms etc and don’t live that near any classes.
Do any Omnipod users have any recommendations on the bets type of exercise that doesn’t affect pod placement or adhesive etc or have been in the same situation as me?
I’m 30 and have about a stone and a half to lose.
Thanks in advance!

Going to tag @helensaramay because there was a thread going on a couple of weeks ago about pod placement while exercising, not sure if she came to any conclusion on the best place to place said pod when jumping around but you never know :)

Thanks @Knikki
However, I use a tubey pump (and struggle to know where to put it when exercising). @backarini raises an interesting question and I am watching the replies with interest as I am expecting my Animas pump to be replaced within the next year and have been tempted by the Omnipod.

As for what type of exercise, I have always said "what you enjoy".
Failing that, whatever you can incorporate into your daily life. For example, get a bike a cycle when you used to drive.
Or if you want to try something cheaper, try a Parkrun.

Hi @backarini, I have a tubey pump so cannot do more than suggest commonsense placement such as avoiding the skin where you sit, where a belt or sash may run or clothing rub. With the tubey pumps I usually choose the abdomen area nearer the centre for more protection.
My take on exercise in general (and I do not think it matters much whether you have a tubey pump or not, you just work with the pros and cons of whichever you have) I find that exercise which is meaningful is the type you will continue with.
What do I mean by meaningful? Working to the shops and carrying the shopping home, perhaps choosing a different route there and back. Join a photography or garden club and do walking tours. Cycle to a destination perhaps in a group and enjoy something to eat and cycle (preferably downhill) home.
In summary interesting things to see and do, enjoying activity with others, and attaining some purpose such as climbing up a hill to see the view, the shopping (and a pleasant conversion with someone such as a favourite shopkeeper etc), different activities for the seasons etc. I admit to looking at people's gardens on my walks to use in the design of my own garden, photographing flowers around the suburbs to use for artwork inspiration, I am hoping to own a dog in the near future but the saying below* has me thinking twice, that is if toddlers and pups are similar !!
We all need time to find what works best for us - and that may change over time.
Best Wishes with the Omnipod, your new friend! Reports on progress expected!
P.S. My favourite form of activity is "hidden' in my avatar.
