Needing a lot more insulin on days at work

Hi,

I have been T1D for 6 years now and have been working in my current role for 2.5 years. My breakfast and lunch ratios have always been similar, regardless of the day but on days that I work [I work in a school], I need much big doses for my evening meal. I always eat a very similar dinner, and need roughly double my dose for dinner on day I work. I do wake up an hour or so earlier on work days than days I don't work, yet still go to bed at a similar time and eat dinner at around the same time. I am doing a similar amount of exercise on every single day and don't feel particuarly stressed during work. This has only been happening for the last year or so, so I am surprised this is happening.

Why is this? Regardless of if I have the week off work or a weekend, I always have the same doses when I am now working, but higher for dinner when I am. Any thoughts, please let me know!

Hi, my thoughts are delayed reaction to stress. I know you have said you dont find work particularly stressful, but could it be the journey home?
When I worked in the middle of a busy city centre and drove through rush hour traffic my BG was always high when I arrived at work. Then I drove home in rush hour traffic and my BG was low when I got home. People were always waiting for me at work but not at home. I think the effect of stress on BG’s is often underestimated.
