Type 1 Needing more insulin over time

Hi,

When I first got diagnosed, my ratios were lower than what they've now become. For example, I used to have 1 unit per 12g carbs and would need around 12 units as my basal. That worked fine for over a year and changed seemingly overnight. Since a few months, I need around 18-19 units basal and my I:C is set to 1:11 (might have to change this to ~10.5) instead of 1:12. My insulin sensitivity used to be 1 unit per 2.0 mmol/L but that has become 1:1.5mmol/L during the nights.

My CGM alarms me at 9.0 and I take a little bit of insulin to prevent it from going higher. If I wait until it's at 10.0, it'll easily get to 14.0 and often higher and it becomes much more difficult for me to stabilize my sugars, resulting in needing over double the usual correction dose.

Is this something I have to be concerned about? Is it normal or fine to need more insulin? I'm sure you understand my concern.
Thank you.

Update: I literally just noticed this thread made today about more or less the same. I'll give it a read!
